Houston Photographer, Evin Thayer has established himself as one of Houston’s finest professional photographers.  His love of photography began at an early age and his career has spanned more than 35 years. Evin’s calm presence naturally puts everyone at ease and his passion for photographing people and animals is reflected in the beautiful works of art he creates.

Evin recognizes that the photography industry continues to change rapidly and says, “The advent of digital technology has changed the way me make images today.  Our photography industry has been going through a very extensive retooling the last few years.  It’s exciting what this new technology allows us to do and if you can dream it, you can now create it on paper or a TV screen.  Pandora’s Box has been opened and we can make wonderful images never before possible!  However, the same rules of creative composition, lighting and great expressions still apply to produce that one of a kind image!”  Evin expresses a continued excitement and it is clear he’s just getting warmed up for the next 30 years of his career.  Per Evin, “There will always be a need for creative, skilled, professional photographers.  The tools we use are constantly changing and I have a lot of ideas I want to pursue.  I still have the vision to make each photographic image a unique and memorable work of art.”

As a third generation Houstonian, Evin is committed to giving back to the community and believes each person can contribute in some way to make Houston a better place to live.  Evin enjoys donating his time, expertise and resources to special projects that benefit local non-profits including:

  • Houston Firefighters Calendar that raised over a million dollars for the Children’s Burn and Cripple Fund over a 13 year period

  • Additionally, each year Evin Thayer Studios photography gift certificates are provided to select area schools for galas and charity fundraisers.
